Following the allegation of government land grabbing worth 60 million naira levelled against the Imo State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Hon. Samuel Udeh (Ezeumuokorobia), which led to his invitation by the State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma for interrogation, the Unionists have rejoiced over their boss’ vindication and release.
The men of the wheel during their end of the month general meeting at the State Secretariat, Owerri,yesterday, expressed their profound joy of having their Chairman, Hon. Udeh back and free of the allegation .
Presiding over the meeting the Chairman, presented the agenda of the meeting which included, donations for the needy, Branch election update, State Secretariat building update, burial update of late wife to Chief Odinaka and issue of Chairman’s land grabbing allegation.
On his allegation matter, the Chairman of NURTW,an Apostle of the Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim,ESOCS, Iho Branch, expressed his utmost disappointment and dismay to the hypocritical, wicked attitude of some members who he thinks would reciprocate his fatherly love demonstrated to them all and be loyal to his sagacious leadership.
He regretted that some members rather backbite and stab him at back.
Udeh, once again exhibited his leadership dexterity and candour by deeming it wise to call up before the entire house one of their members and suspended Chairman of Naze Timber Park branch, Chief Ejike Ubochi who happened to be the signatory to the said petition against him.
Ubochi was thereafter asked to confess to the house if he, Udeh, actually committed the crime of selling or grabbing government land at Naze Timber Park.
Responding, Chief Ubochi, who was held up to shame categorically stated that the State Chairman is very innocent of the allegation of the government land grabbing which he initially inked to.
It was at this point that the whole house reiterated their condemnation of Ubochi’s cruel action to the Chairman, whom they reaffirmed has been a good and upright leader.
The Union members, forthwith demanded that the man be further suspended from the Union’s State Administrative Council, SAC.
Inline with the demand, the State Executive Council, SEC, that had previously suspended him from being the Naze Branch Chairman, due to his inability to produce concrete answers to questions regarding the erection of building in the position of toilets at the Naze Timber Park, with the SAC, unanimously suspended Ubochi and walked him out of the meeting.
Similarly, a seven man committee was set up by the councils to thoroughly investigate the matter.
The Union decided that at the end of investigation the suspension issue of Ubochi can then be reviewed and his position determined.
The members of the seven man committee include: Prince Okey Mbawuike, Chairman, Comrade Charles Oduagwu, Secretary, Chief Vitalis Onugha, Baba Ali Ezebuihe, Dominic Anuforo, Chisom Kpaluku, and Deacon Paul Ajunwa.
